Great crowds were traveling with Jesus, and he turned and addressed them, “If anyone comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:25–26
We are directed by Jesus to “hate” or reject all of forms of sin even if it comes from friends and family members. Reflect on the passion and commitment it takes to reject all forms of sin. Choosing to be a faithful disciple of Jesus and rejecting everything that interferes with that choice will increase your love for God, for others and yourself.
