2. Thank a Democrat for not funding the Department of Homeland Security today. The Democrat Party is all in on the destruction of this Great Nation. 1. Some controversy has sprouted in the State of Ohio Member of State Central Committee – Woman 19 District – Republican primary election. Melanie Leneghan (ML), who currently holds the seat, is running for reelection. Of note, ML is a board member of the Delaware County Board of Elections. A paperwork snafu presented with Rebecca Nourse’s (RN) certification filing to run for the Women’s Republican State Central Committee seat. RN dated her paperwork the day she submitted form 2-L to the election board instead of the day she downloaded the form before obtaining 15 elector signatures on page 2 of the form. Initially, ML recused herself from the issue and the board voted 3-0 to remove RN from the ballot. RN appealed this decision with the board and on reconsideration and a second vote, ML did not recuse herself and the vote deadlocked 2-2 on allowing RN on the 5/5/2026 Republican primary ballot. The matter was referred to Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose. In a letter to the Delaware County Board of Elections, Secretary of State LaRose informed the board that they needed to revote the issue sans ML. The vote was 2-1 in RN’s favor. RN has been added to the ballot. A challenge has been made to the Delaware County Election Board regarding ML’s residency status. The board did not have a quorum to address this issue at a 3/5/2026 meeting. ML’s residency status may be headed to court.
2. Praise Jesus!! The U.S. Supreme Court made a major decision affirming parental rights in a 6-3 ruling in Mirabelli v. Bonta. This case involved California and gender transitions occurring without parental consent. One California family did not find out until after their daughter had been hospitalized for a suicide attempt that she had been living as a boy at school. The Court held that California “cut out the primary protectors of children’s best interest: their parents.” Six justices found that secrecy policies likely violate both the First Amendment’s protection of religious liberty and the Fourteenth Amendment’s guarantee of parental rights.
3. Buckle up. On April 1, 2026, the Supreme Court will be begin hearing opening arguments in Trump v. Barbara. The case involves birth right citizenship.
3. U.S. Legislative News. You would think that the first order of business of both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate this week would be to end the current partial government shut down that effects Department of Homeland Security funding. Today marks day 18 of the partial shutdown.
On Saturday, 2/28/2026, President Donald J. Trump, Commander in Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces, launched Operation Epic Fury in conjunction with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), to neutralize an imminent threat to U.S. civilians and military personnel in the Middle East. Careful Intel gathering had determined the threat. Many individuals have voiced concerns because they consider Operation Epic Fury to be an “unprovoked” military action. The Islamic Republic of Iran has been provoking the United States of America for 47 years. During this time, Iran has killed 869 U.S. Military Personnel. In 1988, Colonel William R. Higgins was serving as a member of a United Nations peace-keeping mission when he was kidnapped by a Hezbollah terrorist group in Lebanon. He was tortured and held captive for 17 months. His desecrated body was found behind a mosque. An autopsy report revealed he had been starved, skin on part of his face and his tongue had been removed, and he had been castrated. In addition to brutal tortures and murders, Iranian terrorist linked groups have engaged in plane hijackings and hostage situations. In 1979, militants in Iran seized 66 hostages at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and held 52 Americans hostage for over a year. Iran has been the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism for almost 5 decades. Trump has waited patiently for Iran to negotiate a peace deal with the United States since Operation Midnight Thunder was orchestrated on 6/22/2025. While dithering on the diplomatic stage, Iran was plotting and building an arsenal for the regime’s “death to America” revenge.
Many Democrats plus some Republicans believe Trump acted unlawfully in engaging in military action in Iran without first obtaining U.S. Congressional approval. Under the War Powers Resolution (Act) of 1973, the President is able to respond unilaterally to an imminent threat but is then required to obtain Congressional approval of such emergency military actions within 60 days following commencement of the action. Seven Gang of Eight members were available to be reached immediately before operation Epic Fury commenced on 2/28/2026. Much talk has been raised over the preceding weekend to curtail the President’s ability to engage in military actions. I find it interesting that many of our Congressional members have had a lot to say about U.S. actions overseas while we are currently in a partial government shutdown at home that effects funding for the Department of Homeland Security. We are at an increased risk of terrorist acts occurring in the homeland and it is well past time for our government to act on behalf of the American people who pay government officials to protect Americans’ cherished assets which includes our lives. Protecting Americans should not be a partisan issue.
There has been chatter voicing concern about a “forever war.” I too do not have a positive view of many of the U.S. military actions that have occurred globally since WWII, but I have not been amused with Iranian mullahs running rough shod over our appeasing U.S. officials who have come to believe that diplomacy and pallets of cash will keep the Jihadists at bay. The Iranian Theocracy has been quite explicit in stating their desire for imposing Sharia Law globally. These zealots should be taken at their word which means there can be no peace until Western Judeo-Christian societies submit to Islam. Following Operation Midnight Thunder, many Iranians who favor a Western Worldview took to the streets in protest of the current ruling regime. Estimates put the recent slaughter of protesting Iranian citizens by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp. (IRGC) in the tens of thousands. In an address to the American people on Saturday and a follow-up statement yesterday, Trump made his objectives clear. Epic Fury is being carried out boldly and precisely to take out Iran’s ruling leaders, missiles, and missile launchers in a joint venture with the IDF. President Trump explicitly stated that the governing of Iran will be turned over to the Iranian people and he implored the people of Iran desiring freedom to act now for this once in a lifetime opportunity. I believe that Trump’s team would not have initiated Epic Fury if resources on the ground in Iran to implement real change were not ready to roll.
The days ahead will be tough as U.S. military casualties mount. The price of freedom is never free. The IRGC has been launching missiles all over the Middle East. It would appear that the IRGC has not made friends with United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. It is now making a lot more sense why Trump has invested so much diplomatic time during his current administration cozying up to Middle Eastern partners. To Conservatives who are carping that Epic Fury is not America First, my simple response is “grow up.” The United States of America is part of the world at large and one cannot hide in a closet hoping that things will magically work out. The U.S. has many global enemies who would celebrate its complete demise. I would prefer to level many of these players on their home turf, not ours. The current Iranian Islamic Regime cannot be bargained or reasoned with and this truth has been proven repeatedly over many decades.
President Donald J. Trump gave a masterful State of the Union (SOTU) address last night. He told the American people where he started when he began his second term and reminded the American people of the immigration, crime, and high cost of living problems he inherited from the previous administration. He highlighted what he has done during his second term to right the ship and then told Americans where he is going in the remainder of his time in office. President Trump made suggestions to Congress on some laws he believes they should pass to codify executive orders he has signed. I was impressed with Trump’s use of visuals – American citizens who are a living testimony to the problems we face and how these problems can be overcome. When discussing Delilah’s Law, a law aimed at barring states from issuing commercial driving licenses to illegal immigrants, Trump had in the audience Delilah Coleman who is a first grader who was severely injured in a motor vehicle accident involving an illegal alien semi-truck driver. Trump also suggested Congress pass the Stop Insider Trading Act and specifically called out Representative Nancy Pelosi. Trump showed the American people that America truly is exceptional by having the 2026 gold medalist U.S. Olympic men’s hockey team in attendance. To dispel the Leftist myth of misogyny afoot, Trump explained that he will be meeting with the gold medalist U.S. women’s hockey team at the White House. The women could not be at the SOTU address because of previous scheduled commitments. Exceptional members of our military were in attendance and several received awards. The defining moment of Trump’s address was when he stated, “Tonight, I’m inviting every legislator to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.” Members of the Democratic Party remained seated. Hmm, not exactly the people I want to pay with my hard-earned dough to protect my interests.
The Democrats acted as expected. U.S. Representative Al Green was removed early. Iryna Zarutska’s, Ukrainian refugee who was slaughtered on a train in North Carolina, mother was in attendance and although Democrats have no problem wearing pins in support of Ukraine, few stood and acknowledged her presence. Trump did mistakenly refer to Iryna’s killer as an illegal alien. Iryna’s killer is a homegrown U.S. criminal who is an example of the failure of “soft on crime” policies. While I was waiting for Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger’s rebuttal, I checked to see if my favorite Leftist sites had pounced on the “lie” and as sure as the sun rises in the East…. Representatives Omar and Tlaib sat together and heckled POTUS. I found it rich that Trump called out the Somali financial fraud and named V.P. Vance as the Fraud Czar. I wish Rep. Randy Fine, who brought his father and his father’s Seeing Eye dog Sadie to the event, had been sitting next to the dynamic heckler duo. Democrats who did not attend the SOTU address held a “People’s State of the Union” rally. Joy Reid brought Kilmar Abrego Garcia as her special guest. Governor Spanberger’s rebuttal was thin gruel – Orange man bad. Democrats have nothing substantive to offer.
3. U.S. Legislative News. Tomorrow night, 2/24/2026, Trump will be giving his first State of the Union Address of his second term. Conservative media has been buzzing for days about how the Merchants of Depravity – Democrat Party members- will be behaving like spoiled, rotten brats. I am so “done” with these assclowns at this point. I hope the entire Democrat Party, including Democrat Supreme Court Justices, break decorum and just go express their dismay with conservative Christian values somewhere else. My heart ached last year when Trump made a speech addressing a joint session of Congress and Democrats made a show of NOT standing or applauding for a 13-year-old cancer patient who was given an honorary Secret Service award.
