1. I was hoping the irascible Democrats would get with the program and vote the shutdown over with the clean CR once their No Kings performance art was over. SNAP (supplemental nutrition assistance program) benefits are threatened if the shutdown moves into November. As I think about this, and I could be wrong, I am thinking that the Democrats may not budge on the issue until after the 11/4/2025 election. The Democrats have zip, zero, jack shit leverage right now, but if they do well on the first Tuesday of November, they might be able to get some wussy members of the Republican Party to cave to a few of their demands. Pay close attention to the Virginia and New Jersey governor races.

2. I had the pleasure of briefly speaking with Charlie Kirk at the Delaware County Republican Party Lincoln Reagan dinner on 8/25/2025. I am a big Charlie Kirk fan and continue to watch his show on Real America’s Voice. I approached Charlie at the dinner and relayed how excited I was that he and many other young people are standing up for Christian family values. I apologized for the “stupid” of my generation – the Baby Boomers. He said to me, “People like you make up for it. Keep up the good fight.”
