The Hearts of Marxist Ideologues
1. Please continue to pray for those effected by flooding in Texas.
2. Many, many people have stepped up to the plate to bring compassion, hope, and kindness to those suffering from the ravages of flooding in Texas this past weekend. Ohio Governor DeWine has mobilized the Ohio State Highway Patrol along with K-9 units to assist with rescue, search, and recovery operations in Texas. Sadly, the reaction of some Americans to this tragedy has exposed an ugly undercurrent in our country. Houston pediatrician, Dr. Christina Propst, posted on Facebook, âMay all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry. Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.â Propst was fired by her employer, Blue Fish Pediatrics. A former Houston Food Insecurity Board member, Sade Perkins, posted a Tik Tok video stating, â I know I am going to get canceled for this, but Camp Mystic is a white-only girlsâ Christian camp. They donât even have a token Asian. They donât have a token Black person. Itâs an all-white, white-only conservative Christian camp.â She went on to say, â If this were a group of Hispanic girls out there, this would not be getting this type of coverage that theyâre getting, no one would give a f__k, and all these white people, the parents of these little girls would be saying things like âthey need to be deported, they shouldnât have been here in the first placeâ and yada yada yada.â Houston Mayor, John Whitmire, has said he has no plans to reappoint her, particularly after her âdeeply inappropriate comments.â The Reverend Colin Bossen of the First Unitarian Universalist Church (FUUC) of Houston put out a statement disavowing his girlfriendâs views and letting the community know that the comments made by Ms. Perkins are not in the spirit of FUUCâs values. Sade Perkinsâ vitriol is an example of what happens when Critical Race Theory and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Marxist Ideology is allowed to infest and simmer in the heart and mind. Please pray for the Lordâs healing hand to touch the hearts of those suffering from this tragedy.

Thought and Songs for Today
Are you attentive to the needs of those around you? Do you notice their struggles, their pain, and the weight they carry each day? Can you recognize when someone is feeling sorrowful or overwhelmed? And in those moments, do you contribute to their burdenâor do you offer comfort and support? Take time today to reflect on the profound gift of empathy and compassion. Genuine Christian empathy is a loving response to the suffering of others. It is an expression of Mercy that we are called to nurture, so we may help lighten the load of those entrusted to our care. âBear one anotherâs burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.â â Galatians 6:2
Happy 4th of July! Make America Great Again!!

1. The One Big Beautiful Bill passed 218-214 in the U.S. House of Representatives today with all House Democrats and Republicans Thomas Massie (KY) and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA) voting against the bill. The OBBB is now on the launch pad for Trumpâs desk.

2. Chair of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, is the 2025 Patron Saint of Wait and See and Trump Tariff Derangement Syndrome. Chairman Powell must be slowing down with age this year. He was not so âwait and seeâ when he cut interest rates 6 weeks before last yearâs presidential election 50 basis points to juice the economy and increase the odds for a Kamala Harris win.

Budget News Tuesday.
1. State of Ohio. Although Governor DeWine was on a line item veto frenzy -67- I was happy to see that my new flat state income tax rate will be 2.75%. Also, a tax credit of $750 remains in place for pregnancy resource center donations. I am not happy to see how much Ohio taxpayers are on the hook for a new professional sports complex in Cleveland – $600,000,000. The Cleveland Browns moved into their current stadium in 1999. Itâs a shame that modern sports complexes do not have the same life expectancy as the old Roman Coliseum. Hopefully, the Ohio Legislature will override vetoes on education spending accounts for students who attend non-chartered religious schools and a provision requiring books on gender identity and sexual orientation to be placed out of childrenâs view.

2. Federal budget. The Senate has passed the OBBB with J.D. Vance providing the tie breaking vote. All Democrats opposed the OBBB in addition to Republican Senators Thom Tillis (NC), Rand Paul (KY), and Susan Collins (ME). The budget bill is now back in the U.S. House of Representatives and is facing strong head winds. Lots of games went on the last few days in the Senate. One of the biggest disappointments to me was the 44 Senate members who think it is OK for illegal aliens to be enrolled in the Medicaid program. WTF??? Inquiring minds are curious as to the payoff Senator Lisa Murkowski (AK) received for her affirmative vote to push the OBBB over the line.

Thought For Today
Reflect today on Saints Peter and Paul and remember that they were ordinary men called to extraordinary vocations. They answered Godâs call in ways beyond their imagination. Consider your own calling and how God may want to use you to continue their mission.
