The hurt of 9/11 never goes away
Twenty four years ago today something horrible happened in America. I was 38 years old and had that Tuesday off. My six year old daughter was at school and my three year old son was playing in the family room. I always left the T.V. on with something blathering in the background when I was home. That sunny morning, I stepped out back of my Genoa Twp. home to visit my Uncle Nick – I smoked like a fiend back then – and was thinking of how happy I was not to be putting out fires and dealing with asshats at work. When I went back into the house, I went into the family room to see what my son was up to. As I tripped over a toy truck on the floor, the T.V. grabbed my attention. “What the *uck…..” I could not believe what I was seeing. I started to panic. My father worked in midtown Manhattan and often conducted business downtown. My youngest sister had just started her freshman year at American University in D.C. What to do. What to do. Quick, do I load my little man in the car and put the pedal to metal to get back to the Jersey homestead? I went out back again to commune with Uncle Nick, composed myself, and then called my sister who lived in North Jersey. She told me that she was attempting to reach our father in his midtown Manhattan office, but the line was busy. That evening, my sister reached our father by phone in his office. He was OK. My father is gone now. He NEVER spoke of what he witnessed in Manhattan on that day. My mother told me that when he got home the following day he went into the bedroom, locked the bedroom door, and wailed inconsolably. My father retired on 12/15/2001 – his sixty first birthday.
Days after the 9/11 attack, I learned that Rich Guadagno, who was a year ahead of me in high school, had been on Flight 93. I have a very fond memory of Rich that always plays in my mind on 9/11. I was quite the studious, unfashionable, nerd in high school and was never given the time of day by anyone in the “in” crowd. I was a stellar student aiming for an Ivy League undergraduate degree and then off to medical school. Junior year, I was one of two females in the physics class. One day after 7th period English class, I was warned coming out of the class not to go look at the physic test scores that had just been posted. Well, of course I went and looked and man did I bomb. I started to cry and Rich, who was there with a friend checking the list, grabbed my hand, gave me hug, and reassured me that everything would be OK because our lowest test score got dropped at the end of the marking period. Rich didn’t know me, but he extended his hand in an act of kindness that I remember to this day. I know in my heart that Rich was a brave heart on Flight 93 and that Jesus himself walked Rich through heaven’s gate.

1. Like doctordeplorablemf, I too will not be voting for either Anisa Liban or Nafiso Jamale to serve on the Westerville City Schools District (WCSD) Board of Education. Candidate Liban, who was appointed to the board 9/2024, states in her biography on the WCSD School Board page that she served as the Government Affairs Director at the Center on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Ohio. Affiliation with CAIR is enough for me to say, “Oh hell, NO.”
2. I am going to go “there” today. Race and crime. Several weeks ago in Charlotte, N.C., a white woman who was a Ukrainian refugee, was sitting on a public transit train minding her own business when a male, black American, career criminal sitting behind her stood up and plunged a knife into her neck several times killing her. The victim’s name is Iryna Zarutska and she was 23 years old. It is a stain on the fabric of American society when a woman who managed to escape a war torn country in Europe is killed on an American tram by a dirt bag who should have been in jail. The black woman who is the current mayor of Charlotte engaged in “victimhood inversion” when she publically addressed the event. She NEVER mentioned the victim by name but went on and on and on about how services for those with mental illness and homelessness need to be addressed thus transforming the perpetrator of this heinous crime into a victim of society’s neglect. In addition, the mayor stated she was upset that images of the murder had been posted on-line and she asked media outlets not to post the images. O.K., I agree that as a civilized society we need to address both mental illness and homelessness and sorry, but the images are already out there. But you know what, we also need to address the fact that 13.5% of the population is responsible for more than 50% of the homicides. The biggest predictor of a male winding up in jail is whether or not he was raised in a household with both a mother AND A FATHER. Fatherless homes lead to higher incarceration rates. Black Americans have a > 70% illegitimacy rate. Whites have a rate of about 30%. Asians have the lowest rate, < 17%, which explains why demographically Asians have the highest household income. Being smart little Fonzis really does pay off. The Marxist Democrats are out to destroy this country and they have been quite successful in achieving racial discord and disruption of family values. We need to instill family values in at risk communities. We need to stop being stupid and playing the Marxist game.

3. The poop show going on in Georgia regarding Hyundai is interesting; yet, not surprising. Unfortunately right now, South Korea is being absorbed by the Communist Borg. Regardless, both the Democrat and Republican Party tools in this country are not above the grift. I have a sneaking suspicion that the 2 billion dollar plus incentive package that was granted to Hyundai to build the plant will not create enough American jobs to justify the incentives which include massive tax breaks. Hyundai and their various subcontractors will make sure all visas are up to date moving forward . Lesson learned. The Devil did go down to Georgia.

Some folks in Ohio are upset that the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles is requiring “proof” of citizenship when individuals register to vote at the bureau. The last time I renewed my driver’s license a few years back, I had to cough up my birth certificate so that I could get a license that I could use as ID to fly the friendly skies. Not really that hard. The day I turned 18, my father turned over to me THE file – birth certificate, social security card, every report card, and every award I had ever received. That file folder has been with me my whole life. An addition to the file folder has been my marriage license. Both the wife and I have had to produce the marriage license when we have gotten a new job and the new job is going to be the provider of the family health insurance. Progressive liberals really are little arrogant skid marks. They consider sizable swaths of our society; particularly people who are poor or of color, to be too stupid to figure it out. You know libtards, if you hadn’t allowed everybody and his brother to just walk over the border, we would not have to have this discussion and every individual could be taken at their word. YOU did this. Some leftists are still upset about the 2024 passage of Ohio H.B. 8 and the fact that LifeWise Academy, other religious organizations, and parents can exercise their Religious Released Time Instruction rights. Goodness, gracious, great balls of fire, LifeWise gives the kids written material and little trinkets. Well, progressive liberal parents, welcome to the party. For decades, conservative parents have had to hone their skills and learn to say NO to their kids. Back in the day, I opted my kids out of many school offerings and if other parents thought the offerings were great for their kids, then good for them. This is a free country. I always had enough to worry about keeping mine and my kid’s butts out of the fire.
